Tuesday Link Rodeo 2!
Welcome one and all to the Tuesday link rodeo! I have some excellent links cued up here, after the Break.
First Link of the day is to Orac, at Scienceblogs. The subject is about how Health Department officials have warned the morons in the Philippines who reenact the crucifixion of Jesus on Easter to use clean nails… (old link but, it shows the idiocy that religion brings out in people.)
Next up we have a Glenn Greenwald post about the mainstream media’s choice of critics of the Iraq war. The article highlights how the two war critics chosen by PBS’s Charlie Rose, and how those critics were not really opposed to the war, but were just opposed to our Glorious Fearless Leader’s execution of it.
Our next link is at Jesus’s General, and is a guest post by weekly guest poster Austin Cline. The article is about McCain’s recent mistaken (or dishonest) claim that Iraq is training Al-Qaeda operatives. (This is the rough equivalent of claiming that the Republic of Ireland was training members of the Ulster Volunteer Force) While this should of course put serious doubts in any sensible person’s mind that McCain is a suitable candidate for president, the main stream media seems to feel that this is a non issue.
(Glenn Greenwald covers this issue here)
Continuing the subject about lies about foreign policy experience, Hillary Clinton has claimed that she had to dodge sniper fire and skip a ceremony scheduled during her arrival in Tuzla, Bosnia. This link from Ed Brayton, also of scienceblogs, features a video that shows the supposedly canceled ceremony, complete with lack of sniper fire.
Thats all for this week’s edition. Join me next Tuesday for more link rodeo.
